Any experience with Renault's CVT gearbox?

The time has come to trade in my trusty Astra 1.8 automatic, I have my eye on a 3 year old Megane Coupe with CVT gearbox which is listed at a Renault main dealer for 8k.

Do you have any experience of this gearbox, particularly mated to the Renault 2.0 petrol unit? Is this the same gearbox found in Nissan models such as the Qashqai?

I live in quite a hilly area and will be doing around 12k miles a year, mostly short runs with the odd 200 mile motorway trip. Would this car be a good choice?

Will be the same transmission, but I have not driven it in a Renault. It has now been replaced by Renault's EDC (efficient dual clutch) transmission, not because the CVT was faulty, but because the EDC gives better fuel economy.
