What compensation can I expect while my screen is fixed?

I recently bought a BMW 5 Series brand new. After a couple weeks I noticed the windscreen was cracked on the inside and BMW agreed it had been installed wrong. They let me drive it until it smashed two days later. It was then recovered and has now been waiting for a screen to arrive for 6 weeks. I am now being told it will be a further 2 weeks before the screen turns up. They have said they will compensate for the loss when it gets fixed. What sort of compensation should I be looking for?

Te cost of hiring an equivalent car for the time this has been off the road (assuming they did not provide as replacement).
