I bought a used Volkswagen Golf 170 GTD from a large car dealership for £16,000, borrowing £10,000 from dealership finance.

Ten months later it broke down and was being repaired by an approved Volkswagen dealership and it was noted the car was in fact a 140 TDI. All the paperwork, finance papers, dealership and advert state VW Golf 170 GTD.

Checked log book, which had been filed away and it was indeed a 140 TDI. I feel cheated and although I find it hard to believe it was anything other than genuine mistake, I wonder what recourse I may have?
