Sat Nav won't pick up full postcodes. Why?

My 2011 Rav 4 won't accept the last 2 characters of the postcode. It makes you choose the road from a list. If the road is unnamed you cannot get guidance. We have many unnamed roads in rural Gloucestershire but the properties all have full postcodes (which Tom Tom finds perfectly). I don't think Toyota's system is fit for purpose. What grounds do I have to get an improvement from Toyota, please?

I thought this was a German problem, but, in fact, the UK is the only country in the world with 7 digit postcodes and that is why many factory fit satnavs don't cover 7 digits. Tom Tom and Garmin does, though. And some of the expensive German factory fits such as MB Command can have a software upgrade to take the codes.
