Buying a used estate for the family
My wife is looking to buy a family estate for the arrival of our second child, and also to use for her garden design business. We have a budget of around £8.000 and have looked briefly at the Audi A4 Volkswagen Passat and Volvo V50. Do you think that the V70 is a better choice?
We dont want to buy anything older than 2007 and fuel economy is important for city driving.
Could you suggest anything that seperates these cars technichally or other cars that are more appropriate?

For city driving you don't want a diesel because of the trouble they can be. So it's relative fuel economy of a diesel v/s huge repair bills, or relative thirst of a petrol with much smaller repair bills.

Better than previous A4 in virtually every respect. Classy looks, plenty of kit, roomy cabin and a good crash safety rating.
Stunning looking and practical executive estate. At its best with quattro 4WD and the excellent 3.0 TDI engine.
