How can my local Ford dealer afford to sell pre-reg Fiestas at such a big discount?

My local Ford dealer has sent me a letter saying it has a limited number of pre-registered Ford Fiesta cars with delivery mileage. The dealer said they are a one-off batch and the prices are extraordinarily cheap. I would say about 40 per cent has been shaved off the price of the Titanium model. How can they afford to do this sort of thing? And is it fair to other Ford customers? I telephoned two other Ford, dealers in other parts of the country, and both of them said they could not even begin to match the prices I was quoted.

That's an excellent offer. Could be a cancelled bulk fleet order. Big fleets normally get this sort of discount, putting them at an advantage over ordinary members of the public and this has been the case for as long as I can remember.
