The great unwatched?

We are told that there are several million vehicles on the road which are untaxed, uninsured, do not have a current MoT certificate and are probably being driven by an unlicensed driver. Yet every year, especially at Christmas the police mount an operation to catch 'over the limit drivers'. Whilst they usually manage to catch a few (and rightly so) I am puzzled why they never seem to catch any of these unsafe cars and drivers To misquote Winston Churchill "But in the morning I shall be sober".

The point of the Christmas campaign is to try to scare drivers into not drinking. But Automatic Numberplate Recognition System traps are catching hundreds of thousands of untaxed, uninsured un MoT’d and unlicenced drivers. And if your car is not registered as insured on the MID database, they will catch you. Check here: www.askmid.com
