Flaky Mercedes-Benz paint

I purchased a Mercedes E class 220 CDI estate from my local main dealer in December 2005, at the time there was around 9,000 miles on the clock. During the following summer I noticed, when washing the car , that the paint was cracked and flakey in a small area around the front nearside headlight. I pointed it out to the service manager when I next took the car in for a service. I was told it was stone chip damage.
As time went on I became aware of a colour difference in shade between the front nearside quarter and the rest of the car. Now there is a huge difference with friends pointing it out to me!
It seems to me that the car had been damaged and resprayed....I was not told...what comeback have I got now?
sincerely
