Oil level on a Boxster

I'm not used to cars without a dipstick. On the Boxster you only get a dashboard reading when the engine is cold and before startup. My readings are varying from day to day, from danger level to overfull and consequently there's a lot of uncertainty on my part but I can't detect any oil puddles. Is this a characteristic of electronic readings and if so is it a relatively simple fix?

That is the correct time for the oil to be read in a Boxster. But means you ahve to pay attention when you start it up.

I'm looking for hybrid SUV with electronic oil level. I was thinking about 2021 Hyundai Tucson or 2022 Kia Sportage but don’t think these come with such devices fitted.
