Faulty audio on Prius

We have a 45 month old Prius. The Radio/CD player was changed at around 2 years because some CDs became locked inside.
There is a stick-on label with instructions on loading and ejecting CDs (which we followed to the letter) which suggests that this was a known problem.

Now the replacement has an intermittent fault which causes various control buttons not to respond, which is getting worse, and which will obviously need some attention.

Although the car is out of warranty, would it be reasonable to expect Toyota to contribute some or all of the repair/replacement cost?

This is the first instance of a fault in a factory fitted ICE system that I have experienced in over 50 years, and to have two in such a short time suggests that Toyota have some sort of problem.

Always reasonable to ask. If your request is turned down, take it to a car audio specialist.
