The DVLA vehicle check service is bringing up incorrect details for several cars from the same dealer, why is this?

Is there a reason as to why a car advertised by a local trader as a Fiat500 comes up as a Volkswagen on the DVLA site? There is also a Nissan advertised but the Vehicle Reg comes up as a Ford Focus.
A number of vehicles also come up as ‘Vehicle Details Could Not Be Found’ on the DVLA site. Is there a simple explanation that I am missing?

Although the DVLA vehicle check system is not perfect, it seems unlikely that a number of vehicles from the same trader have been recorded in error. It is possible that the dealer is switching the registration plates for some reason - if there is a particular vehicle if you are interested in we would suggest contacting the dealer to confirm the registration of this car so you can check it again. If the same issue occurrs we would suggest looking elsewhere.
