Can I park my car on the road with no MoT?

My car is having running problems and has been parked on the road until I found the time to fix it. While it’s been parked up it has been taxed and insured, but the MoT had expired. It has not been driven since it was parked up. Can I legally park it on the road until I can fix it?

If your car does not have a valid MoT it cannot be driven or parked on the public road. Even if you choose to SORN the vehicle it must be kept on private land.

My car is on SORN. If I take it for an MoT and it passes, do I need to tax it immediately or can I leave it on SORN and tax it later in the year?
