Which automatic new cars in the UK still have torque converter gearboxes as many manufacturers seem to be switching to cvt or twin clutch?.

Torque converters became less common as manufacturers switched to dual-clutch and CVT gearboxes, mainly for efficiency reasons, but some manufacturers still use them and there are signs that they will become more popular again in the future.

The majority of Mazda automatics, BMWs, MINIs and larger Audis are torque converter autos while the EAT8 gearbox found in Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and DS models is also a torque converter gearbox.
