I bought an ex-police riot van but have found it is not registered - what do I do?

I bought an ex-police riot van last year which had an MoT at the time of purchase. Now I find I cannot MoT it as it is not registered. The dealership taxed it for me the day I picked it up. What do I do?

If the dealership taxed the vehicle for you on the day you picked it up, it's possible that they also registered the vehicle on your behalf. However, if the vehicle was never properly registered, this could explain why you are now unable to obtain an MoT.

To resolve this issue, you should contact the DVLA and explain the situation. They should be able to provide guidance on what steps you need to take to properly register your vehicle and obtain an MoT. It may also be helpful to provide any documentation you have related to the vehicle's purchase and previous ownership, including the MoT certificate from when you bought the vehicle.
