Which is the best petrol automatic small SUV?

I'm looking to buy a new petrol automatic small SUV such as the SEAT Arona or other makes. My priority is mpg.

Does it have to be petrol rather than a hybrid? If not, the Toyota Yaris Cross would be a good choice and very cheap to run. Otherwise, we'd recommend a Skoda Kamiq or Ford Puma. This'll give you an idea of real-world fuel economy: www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/
