Can you recommend a car that can cope well with speed bumps?
Is there a medium-sized car that would cope well with London's speed humps/bumps and not damage the car?

Anything with small wheels (and big tyres) should cope well with speed bumps. A Toyota Corolla Hybrid should be well-suited to London traffic and provides a very compliant ride.
