Assault on battery

Having read your response to the letter about battery problems with a Honda Civic you may be interested in the following. We have a Honda Civic EX I-VTEC S-A, bought new in March 2008. We were recently at the garage talking to the mechanic and happened to mention that we were off on a cruise and would be leaving the car at the cruise terminal for a week whilst we were away. He told us to make sure that we did not leave the automatic headlight or windscreen wiper facility engaged, as this could drain the battery and we would return home to find it flat. This information may be of use to readers in similar situations.

Many thanks. Something else to add to the list to switch off: Radio, interior lights, heater fan, satnav.
