What happens to my hybrid car if the engine fails?

Do any petrol/electric hybrids support driving on electricity if the engine fails, and/or using only the engine if the battery/motor has a fault? Or do they all become unusable if there is a fault in either system?

In a hybrid, the electric motor and petrol engine work together so, if one fails, the entire system will require attention.

Hybrids are proving to be very reliable. The Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius are two of the most reliable cars on sale according to our Satisfaction Index: www.honestjohn.co.uk/honest-john-satisfaction-inde.../
