A sum of some £3.25 million has been allocated to York so that cycling facilities can be improved. In most people's view the cycle facilities in York are more than adequate and I for one do not see just where all this money can be spent. I am told that the money is 'Ring Fenced' and cannot therefore be spent on anything else?

That's the same sort of ridiculous waste of taxpayers money that has led to our roads being festooned with speed cushions that break car springs and suspension systems, destroy tyres and could well be responsible for hundreds of death crashes every year. I would look deeply into precisely who benefits, including the contractor who lays the bicycle lanes and who awards the council contracts.
