Faults alarm

My wife downsized from a Vauxhall Zafira to a brand new '58 plate Mazda 2 1.3TS2 using Mazda Finance. The Mazda 2 was chosen for its reputation as being a fun, reliable car. The car was collected on 1st September 2008 and since then we have had nothing but problems with the alarm sounding. It is mainly confined to having just locked the car and the alarm sounding within the first minute or two. However it has happen occasionally with the car having been parked for a period of time. The Mazda dealer has been helpful and the car has been in on five occasions (totalling around 11 days in total) during which they have discovered the ultrasonic beams were out of alignment resulting in the replacement of the internal sensors and also resetting the alarm back to factory defaults. The dealer has said his next step will be to strip the alarm down but he will need the car for a couple of days. The car is great to drive but she is now getting extremely upset with the state of things and the alarm sounding on average four to five times a week. We would be grateful if you could advise on where we stand with rejecting the car or whether we have any other actions available to us?

Might be a spider inside the car that only emerges when no humans are in it. But here are some things to try before leaving the car:- Leave the vents set to recirculate. Turn the heater to max. Close all the closable vents. Direct airflow to the footwell. Apart from insects or spiders inside the car that should minimise any disturbance of air that might be setting off the alarm.
