Does my car need to be insured even if I'm not driving it?

Since deciding to sell my car the insurance has run out. Should I reinsure it for a couple of months while I sell it?

If the vehicle is off the road, declared SORN and you could afford the loss if it was stolen, then it doesn't need insured. If not, it must by law have insurance.
