Luxurious long-distance car with good fuel economy

Now that this car has done over 6,000 miles it regularly returns 55mpg.
It is a pleasure to drive, quiet and extremely comfortable.
It encourages you to drive slowly and carefully but can accelerate well, if required.
No good for an Audi driver then.
The Premium Pack version is still under £40k so not 'Luxury' for road tax
Leg room in the back is enormous.
I particularly like the free Lexus Link
