Lexus ES (2018 on)
ES 300h F-Sport
Class, refinement, smooth and different
This is now the fifth Lexus I have owned. Every time I think I want a change I sit in a Lexus compared to all the competition and it's chalk and cheese. This time a did a spreadsheet to compare pricing vs features to try to remove any bias. I based on the addition of the Tech & Safety pack. The value is also amazing and you don't get all those annoying blanked off buttons and number exhaust pipes envy that others slap you with.
Rides over the road like on an air cushion. I have never had a squeaks or rattles and the same with this one.
If you want to race 19 year olds at the lights then maybe not for you but the performance is ample with a nice kick in the Sport+ mode for easy overtaking. On long journeys the cruise control with auto steering correction is great. You get a warning if you take your hands of the wheel for more than a few seconds but it really is very relaxing as you can just rest your arms and shoulders. Recent 8 hour drive to Cornwall and fresh as a daisy when arrived.
Interior is typical Lexus. All high class and padded exactly where needed.
Some 'independent' reviewers say infotainment can be fiddly. I have not found that. Once set up how you like you never need to delve deep into the menu but you can if you want to play.
Boot space is very ample. No drop down back seats for long+wide loads but there is hatch in the middle for long only items. Fine for all my needs but be aware.
Everything just works as it should.
