Skoda Octavia - Mixing tyre types front/rear - brum

Have had Goodyear efficient grip performance summer tyres (asymmetrical) on the front and goodyear vector 4 all season tyres (directional) on the rear all year without problem.

Now changing the 2 front efficient grips for Vredestein Quattrac 5 all season tyres (asymetrical)..

Question is

Should I put the Vector4 (7 mm directional tyre, grip rating B) on the front and the Vredestein (8mm asymmetrical tyre, grip rating C) on the back. I have read that many performance cars fit directional tyres on the front and asymetrical on the rear.

Or should I leave the vector 4 on the back on the basis that they have a theoretically better grip rating?

Main area of use is Lincolnshire, straightish B roads, 75 miles per day.

Opinions?

Before anyone asks, I did not appreciate the Vector 4 was directional when I bought them.

Modern thinking suggests you should always fit new tyres on the rear.

I presume this is because the 'powers that be' consider most drivers can't handle oversteer.

I prefer to fit the best tyres to the front where most of the braking and steering is done.

Besides which I'd rather go off the road backwards, where I can't see the cause of my eventual demise!
