All-new all-electric Lexus TZ heads to the UK
- Six seats across three rows
- Largest panoramic roof on any Lexus model
- 96kWh battery, 330-mile range
- UK specs to be confirmed nearer to 2027 release
This is the all-new Lexus TZ, a large electric SUV that will be heading to the UK next year. Unveiled as a premium six seater, with individual chairs across three rows, the TZ could prove a luxurious rival for cars like the Kia EV9 and the Volvo EX90.
UK specs have yet to be revealed, but Lexus promises a battery range of up to 330 miles from its 96kWh battery. The car is based on the same underlying platform as the Toyota Highlander, which is targeted at the North American market.
2027 Lexus TZ price and release date

All we know for sure so far is that the Lexus TZ will be coming to the UK at some point in 2027. No prices have yet been revealed, but in the region of £80,000 seems likely.
2027 Lexus TZ styling, interior and technology

The new Lexus has a bluff, square look with a rugged but refined design. Lexus says it's "elegant, with an edgy touch". Riding on big wheels – 20 or 22 inches in diameter, depending on spec – the car has a roofline that lowers at the rear end, although Lexus assures us that it won't have an impact on space inside. There are LED headlights and rear L-shaped lamps, and colour options will include bi-tone finishes, including the Sonic Tellus khaki green seen in these pictures.
The TZ measures 5100mm in length – 210mm longer than the Lexus RX – with a 3050mm wheelbase. It's 1990mm wide and 1705mm hight, and is heavy, weighing in at 2630kg.
Inside, Lexus says the TZ has a lounge-like feel, with the largest panoramic roof yet seen on a Lexus car. Six chairs span three rows, with a clean and uncluttered feel to the interior design.
there's a new software platform for the infotainment system. Called Arene, Lexus says it supports a greater range of LexusConnect multimedia functions, and will be both fast and intuitive to use. The infotainment setup is based around a 14-inch central screen and a 12.3-inch multi-information display behind the steering wheel.
The boot capacity measures 290 litres with all three rows of seats in place, expandable to 2017 litres if you fold down the back two rows.
2027 Lexus TZ motors, batteries and range

The Lexus TZ is fitted with a 95.8kWh lithium-ion battery that gives a claimed range of up to 330 miles on a full charge. It can charge at up to 150kW, which means a 10% to 80% charge time of around 35 minutes. That's not particularly fast compared to some of the latest electric cars, which are pushing 350kW charging speeds.
Power comes from a dual-motor setup with 227PS and 269Nm of torque on each, which translates to a brisk 5.4-second 0-62mph acceleration time. Towing capacity is 1500kg (braked).
Lexus says the TZ will be quiet on the road, with plenty of insulation around the cabin and a Comfort mode to make the ride as comfortable as possible for those in the back. There's a Dynamic Rear Steering system that works with the all-wheel-drive system to minimise unnecessary movement to give a smoother ride experience.
