New Dacia Striker revealed next week

  • Teaser image for new crossover
  • "Draws inspiration from the 1980s"
  • Full reveal on 10 March

These are the first official images of the new Dacia Striker, a crossover that will be revealed in full next week.

While little further information has yet been officially confirmed, the Striker is set to be a value-for-money rival for the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, albeit with a higher ride height. Spy shots suggest it will be a lofty estate car, and it shares its mechanical underpinning with the Bigster.

Dacia says the name "draws inspiration from the 1980s" and references ten-pin bowling in its marketing material. (We'll let you make up your own puns along those themes.)

The Romanian company will hope this new type of Dacia will fill a gap left by the Ford Focus, and fit into a price point vacated by cars like the Nissan Qashqai, the Vauxhall Astra and the Volkswagen Golf, which have been steadily increasing in price.

Expect a similar line-up of power options to the Bigster, with mild-hybrid and full-hybrid systems. There may even be a four-wheel-drive version to fit with the rugged image.

We'll update this article with more information once the Striker has been revealed.

2026 Dacia Striker price and release date

2026 Dacia Striker

While prices haven't been confirmed for the Striker, it's likely to cost between £20,000 and £25,000, therefore undercutting its rivals. It'll sit between the Bigster and the smaller Sandero in the Dacia line-up. A UK release date hasn't been announced, but the car will be revealed in full on 10 March, and we should here more after that.

Ask HJ

Why can't I source a replacement windscreen for my car?

I have a Dacia Spring Extreme 2024 but I need a new Windscreen as mine has a hairline crack from top to bottom in the centre of the screen. I have been trying to get a new screen since Nov 25 but cannot get one from Autoglass or from Dacia UK. All I am told is there are no screens available in UK or Europe and no date as to when they will be available how do I stand legally on this as it still has 18 months warranty left?
Parts supply for newer cars can be problematic, with the majority of production given over to building new cars rather than maintaining those that are already on the road. Ultimately it is a matter of staying in regular contact with both the dealer and windscreen replacement companies to see if a screen becomes available. You can also try and source one yourself from independent parts suppliers or salvage companies, but ultimately there is little else you can do in this situation other than making a complaint to Dacia UK.
