2026 Dacia Bigster & Duster: New 150PS hybrid 4x4 aims to be UK’s best-value off-roader

  • Hybrid 150 4x4 versions of Bigster and Duster
  • 48V mild-hybrid system with electric-only capability
  • Six-speed dual-clutch gearbox
  • On sale later this year

Dacia has confirmed that it will be bringing new 150PS hybrid power, with four-wheel-drive, to the Bigster and Duster later this year.

Dacia already has a 130PS 4x4 setup, but the new system will boost power and introduce an automatic gearbox option instead of the existing manual 'box, as well as bringing electrification.

The Hybrid 150 4x4 power option combines a 48V mild-hybrid 1.2-litre petrol engine driving the front wheels with an electric motor on the rear axle. Dacia says the engine delivers 150PS and 230Nm, with an additional 87Nm from the electric motor.

That's about all the information available for now – full UK specs and availability will be confirmed in the coming months, with the first cars arriving later this year.

2026 Dacia Bigster and Duster Hybrid 150 4x4 price and release date

Dacia Duster 4x4

Dacia hasn't given a firm release date for the new models of Bigster and Duster yet, but they will be available later in 2026. The price is also yet to be confirmed. The existing Bigster Hybrid 155 costs from £28,190, and the Duster Hybrid 155 costs from £25,095 – we'd expect a small jump up from both those prices.

Ask HJ

I have been waiting six months for my car to be repaired - will it be written off?

I took delivery of my Dacia Duster hybrid in late February 2025 but on 3rd July I had an accident at a roundabout damaging the wheel, right front suspension, steering rack, bodywork and headlights. I'm still waiting for it, they can't get the parts.... I was told by the repairers that insurance compant dragged their feet signing off the repair, apparently it was a "borderline write-off". There is no ETA for the parts they need and as things stand they've had the car as long as I had it. Is there a point where they will turn round and say "it can't be repaired and its a write off"? Or can I ask for it to be written off and get something more suitable? In the meantime, I drive around in an unsuitable Vauxhall Corsa.... Your advise is appreciated
This claim could be reassessed for a potential total loss. When repair costs sit close to the vehicle’s market value, or when parts are unavailable for a long period, the repair may no longer be considered viable. In this instance, it would be up to your insurer to decide whether this is beyond economical repair. Depending on your policy, you are entitled to request a total-loss review. Although, there is no guarantee of a write-off alone. Your insurer can re-evaluate the position in light of the ongoing delays. And your total loss settlement would be issued in line with the vehicle's market value at the time of the accident.
