New Volvo EX60 revealed with 503-mile range and ultra-fast charging
- New mid-size electric SUV due revealed
- Battery range up to 503 miles
- Three versions available, with rear- or all-wheel drive
- Two trims at launch with a third to follow
- EX60 Cross Country has higher ride height and wider track
Volvo's new mid-size electric SUV, the 2026 Volvo EX60, has been revealed in full. Three versions are available to pre-order at launch – the rear-wheel-drive P6 and the all-wheel-drive P10 AWD and P12 AWD, as well as a rugged Volvo EX60 Cross Country model to tackle off-road terrain.
The headline feature of the Volvo EX60 is the huge battery range available on the top-spec P12 AWD model – up to 503 miles on a full charge, which makes it the longest range electric Volvo yet. The Swedish carmaker also promises ultra-fast charging thanks to 800-volt architecture on the EX60, with 211 miles available in 10 minutes when using a 400W charger.
There's also a new driver assistance system called Pilot Assist Plus, which gives the driver steering assistance and lane changes at speeds of up to 81mph and allows for hands-off driving (depending on regional laws).
The new Volvo EX60 will compete with the likes of the BMW iX3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC, both of which have impressive battery ranges but lag behind the Volvo EX60 on paper.
The EX60 is built on a platform which Volvo says is its most advanced electric car architecture so far, and integrates the battery directly into the structure of the vehicle. The Volvo EX60 has also been built in a way that saves weight, which is designed to further improve its total range.
Looks-wise, the new Volvo EX60 looks to fit in with the latest batch of the brand's electric cars, with slim headlights and pixel-like rear lights. The EX60 will be the first Volvo to launch with Google's Gemini AI assistant, which promises customers the ability to have a natural conversation with the car. Why? Volvo says you could, for example, check emails for a hotel address, or come up with ideas for a road trip.
2026 Volvo EX60 price and release date

The entry-level P6 model costs £56,860 in Plus trim and £62,360 as an Ultra. Add £3000 to either of those trim levels if you want to upgrade to the P10, and £8000 for the P12. The first deliveries of the P6 and P10 models will be this summer, and the P12 later in the year. Pricing isn't yet available for the Cross Country model.
2026 Volvo EX60 styling, interior and technology

The styling of the EX60 reflects that of other recent Volvos – the now-familiar Scandinavian look with short overhangs, a gently sloping roofline and tapered sides to improve aerodynamics. The new Volvo EX60 is 4803mm long, 2067mm wide (including mirrors) and 1639mm high, with a 2970mm wheelbase.
The Volvo EX60 Cross Country adds some more rugged design features, most notably a 20mm higher ride height and a wider track, as well as wider wheel-arch cladding, black upper door mouldings and brushed stainless-steel skid plates. Air suspension lets drivers add an extra 20mm height if needed, or lower it for better aerodynamics on the motorway. A new paint option, Frost Green, and a new design of alloy wheel are both exclusive to the EX60 Cross Country. It's slightly larger than the standard car, at 4811mm long and 1651mm high.
Inside the Volvo EX60 there's a large central infotainment screen - the largest we've seen on a Volvo, and a digital driver display behind the steering wheel. Google's Gemini is baked into the system allowing for, Volvo says, a "lag-free, conversational AI experience". A fast Qualcomm 8255 CPU should ensure the system zips along nicely.
Practicality-wise, the Volvo EX60 has a large 634-litre boot, expanding to 1647 litres with the back seats folded down. There's also a "frunk" space up front under the bonnet with between 58 and 85 litres of extra space, depending on the model. Then there are separate closed storage areas under the boot floor and behind the wheel arches, totalling between 63 and 91 litres, again depending on model.
2026 Volvo EX60 range, performance and charging times

Three power options have been announced, all based on a new electric vehicle underpinning called SPA3. The entry-level EX60 is the rear-wheel drive P6, which uses a single rear-mounted electric motor with 374PS and 480Nm of torque for a 0-62mph time of 5.9 seconds. It uses an 83kWh battery, of which 80kWh is usable, giving the EX60 P6 a range of 385 miles according to official tests.
The P6 offers a peak charging power of 320kW, which means you can charge from 10% to 80% capacity in 18 minutes, using a suitable DC charger.
The mid-spec model is the EX60 P10 AWD, which uses dual motors to produce 510PS and 710Nm, and drops the 0-62mph time to 4.6 seconds, or 4.7 seconds in the EX60 Cross Country. The P10 AWD has a 95kWh battery (91kWh usable) and can charge at a faster speed of up to 370kW, although the 10% to 80% charge still takes 18 minutes. The range is 410 miles in the standard car, or 398 miles in the EX60 Cross Country.
Top of the tree is the EX60 P12 AWD, with 680PS from its dual motors, and 790Nm of torque. The 0-62mph time is just 3.9 seconds. It also features a large 117kWh battery (112kWh battery) with a 503-mile range. It can also charge at 370kW for a 10% to 80% charge time of 19 minutes.
All models support bidirectional charging – Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) – at up to 22kW.
| Model | Battery (useable) | Power | 0-62mph | Range |
| Volvo EX60 P6 | 80kWh | 374PS | 5.9 seconds | 385 miles |
| Volvo EX60 P10 | 91kWh | 510PS | 4.6 seconds | 410 miles |
| Volvo EX60 P12 | 112kWh | 680PS | 3.9 seconds | 503 miles |
2026 Volvo EX60 trim levels

At launch, there are two trim levels available for each version – Plus and Ultra – with an entry-level Core trim planned for introduction at a later date. The EX60 Cross Country is its own specific flavour, sitting outside of the main trim ladder.
Plus-trimmed cars are well equipped as standard, with highlights including 20-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, Matrix LED headlights, a 15-inch infotainment system, three-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel. 21-inch alloy wheels, an electro-chromatic roof and a posh Bowers and Wilkins sound system are among the spec upgrades for the Ultra grade.
