New full-hybrid Omoda 5 SHS-H costs from £25,740
- First full-hybrid Omoda
- 204PS, 53mpg
- Available from March
- Priced from £25,740
Omoda has revealed a hybrid version of its Omoda 5 SUV – the first full-hybrid that the company has released in the UK. The Omoda 5 SHS-H goes on sale in March and adds to the existing petrol and electric versions of the mid-size SUV.
Omoda hopes the new car, which promises up to 53mpg, will strengthen its appeal against rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai, the Kia Sportage, the Hyundai Tucson and more. Two trims will be available and all models get a seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty.
With a starting price of just £25,740, the Omoda 5 SHS-H undercuts many of its rivals by a sizeable amount – the Nissan Qashqai e-Power hybrid starts at more than £34,000, the Sportage at just under £34k and the Tucson at just over £36,000. Closer in price are cars like the MG ZS Hybrid+, which is cheaper than the Omoda at just under £23,000.
2026 Omoda 5 SHS-H price and release date

You'll be able to order the new hybrid Omoda 5 from March. Prices start at £25,740 for the entry-level Knight trim and £29,240 for the top-spec Noble model.
2026 Omoda 5 SHS-H styling, interior and technology

Much of the Omoda 5 SHS-H is very similar to its electric and petrol-powered stablemates, although the grille and bumpers have been tweaked for 2026 and there are new alloy wheel designs. Five exterior colours will be available: Galena Silver, Garnet Red, Obsidian Black, Selenite White and Tourmaline Grey, with two-tone finishes available on certain colour options.
Inside, all models have two 12.3-inch displays – one for the driver instruments and one for infotainment – with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included. The higher trim also gets features like a surround-view camera system, an upgraded sound system and heated and ventilated front seats.
No details on the hybrid 5's boot space has yet been revealed. The other models have a rather unremarkable 380 litres of space in the back, which we expect to be replicated here.
2026 Omoda 5 SHS-H engines, performance and fuel economy

The Omoda 5 SHS-H is powered by a hybrid system that consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and 1.83kW battery. The total system output is 204PS driving the front wheels, with the 0-62mph benchmark acceleration taking 7.9 seconds.
Omoda says the new car can achieve up to 53mpg according to WLTP results, which is a consderable improvement on the petrol car's rather poor 31.4mpg.
2026 Omoda 5 SHS-H trim levels

Like the rest of the Omoda 5 range, there are two trim levels in the hybrid version – Knight and Noble.
Knight features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, the two 12.3-inch displays and what Omoda says is a "comprehensive suite" of advanced driver assistance and safety systems, although the details haven't yet been revealed.
The Noble trim adds a 540-degree camera system, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, ambient interior lighting, heated and ventilated front seats as well as "additional convenience systems" yet to be fully described.
