Kia reveals facelifted Niro

  • Facelifted small SUV revealed in South Korea
  • New looks and an overhauled interior with new infotainment
  • More details later this year
  • Expected in the UK before year end

Kia has shown off the facelifted Niro for the first time, with revised looks inside and out and new infotainment features.

The current-generation Niro has been on sale since 2022, and this is its first major revision. A new-look front end is complemented by an updated infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch screens, but we'll have to wait a couple of months for the full details.

We'd expect the current line-up of hybrid and plug-in hybrid power options to remain, although no details have yet been forthcoming.

The revisions should keep the Niro fresh against its competition, which could include the new Kia Seltos within its own stable, as well as more traditional rivals like the Hyundai Kona, the Toyota C-HR, the Nissan Juke and many more.

There's been no official release date for the revised Kia Niro – we haven't even had all the details about it yet – but we expect to hear more in March, and for the car to arrive before the end of 2026. Prices aren't likely to change dramatically from the current model, which starts at £30,845.

Kia has looked to its recent electric cars for inspiration for the Niro, with the major changes taking place on the nose, with the increasingly familiar Starmap headlights thaht we've seen across the Kia range. There's gloss black plastic on the bumpers, wheel arches and flanks, and a new design of 18-inch alloy wheel. There are new rear lights, too, and a wide rear skid plate to give a more rugged look.

Inside, there are new dual screens, both measuring 12.3 inches across – one for the digital driver display and one for the infotainment. Kia has tweaked the dashboard, too, with the upper line now matching up to the exterior window line, which Kia says enhances "aesthetic unity and visual stability".
