Ineos Grenadier updated for 2026, with new Black Edition model

  • New steering box to improve higher-speed stability
  • Reduced turning circle
  • Upgraded climate control and driving safety systems
  • New Black Edition model

Ineos has made some tweaks to the Grenadier 4x4 for 2026, including a new Black Edition model, but prices are staying put.

The big changes to the Land Rover-inspired off-roader include a new steering box to improve the on-road driving experience, which was one of the big criticisms levelled at the car when it launched in 2022.

Ineos says that the new steering box, which has a variable ratio for the first time, give a lower ration near the central steering position for a tighter and firmer feel. This should give the driver more confidence on the motorway and when overtaking or changing lanes, and better handling on sweeping A and B roads.

The ratio at the end of the steering gear remains as it was, in order to keep the Grenadier's accomplished off-roading prowess. The changes should make for better on-road  manoeuvring, too, with the Grenadier's turning circle reduced by 5%.

There's also a new limnited-production model for 2026 – the Ineos Black Edition. Based on the Fieldmaster trim, the Black Edition comes as either a standard Grenadier or as the Quartermaster pick-up. It features Inky Black paint and gloss-black 18-inch alloys, with a Dark Exterior Pack as standard, featuring a black grille and skidplates. There are tinted windows and dark headlining and carpet inside.

Other changes for 2026 include upgraded climate control components, which Ineos says will improve the performance and predicability of heating and cooling inside the car. There are also upgrades to the Grenadier's advanced driver assistance systems in order to meet the latest regulations. A new shortcut on the infotainment touchscreen turns off the audible alert for the Intelligent Speed Assist system.
