Mitsubishi confirms return of Outlander PHEV to the UK
- Two new Mitsubishi vehicles confirmed for Summer 2026
- Outlander PHEV joins latest L200 pick-up
- Prices and specs yet to be confirmed
Mitsubishi has confirmed that its return to the UK will be spearheaded by the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the latest-generation L200 pick-up truck.
Due for release in the summer of 2026, the new cars will herald the first new Mitsubishis in the UK since 2020, when the Japanese manufacturer left the market.
The latest Mitsubishi Outlander is the fourth-generation model to wear the badge, has seven seats and was launched in 2021.
While UK specification has yet to be confirmed, power in other markets comes with a 2.4-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a battery range of around 38 miles. When it goes on sale, it will prove fresh competition for the likes of the the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Kia Sorento, as well as five-seat SUVs like the Jaecoo 7 and BYD Seal U.

The most recent Mitsubishi L200 pick-up is the sixth-generation model, released in other markets in 2024. It comes with a 2.4-litre diesel engine, likely with 204PS when it comes to our shores. It will be up against other working pickups like the Ford Ranger, the Isuzu D-Max and the Toyota Hilux.
2026 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV price and release dates
No firm dates or prices have been announced by Mitsubishi yet, although we know both the Outlander PHEV and the L200 are due sometime in the summer of 2026.
The Outlander is likely to cost some way below seven-seater rivals from firms like Hyundai and Kia, but could find tough competition from new, high-spec Chinese brands. We'd anticipate a starting price somewhere in the low-£40,000s.
As for the Mitsubishi L200, a starting price around the mid-£30,000s seems likely.
