Next generation Toyota Corolla to get dramatic new look

        - Toyota Corolla Concept revealed at Japan Mobility Show
- Dramatic new design previews next production Corolla
- Expect the production car in 2027
This, believe it or not, is the next Toyota Corolla. Okay, it's actually just a concept car for now, but beneath the snazzy out-there features is the basis of the next generation of Toyota family car.
Shown at the Japan Mobility Show, the Toyota Corolla Concept represents a radical reinvention of what has been up until now a very worthy but relatively understated line of cars.
Toyota says the next production Toyota Corolla will have electric, plug-in hybrid and conventional combustion engines, because not all markets are yet ready for a full EV. And the Toyota Corolla is very much a global model. While the concept is a saloon, we'll see hatchback and estate versions when production arrives in 2027.
The concept has a low windscreen with an extended glass roof plus a fastback-style taper at the rear end, although it's actually a saloon.
Inside, the Toyota Corolla Concept has dual displays – a column-mounted screen for the driver and a larger interface for the passenger that can disappear into the dashboard when the passenger seat isn't in use. The minimalist centre console pedestal might not make it directly to production, but it gives us an idea of how the engineers are thinking.
2027 Toyota Corolla prices and release date

The next production Toyota Corolla is slated for a 2027 release, but it's too early to talk about prices or exact dates yet. We'll need to wait to see it revealed in production form first, which is likely in 2026.
