Skoda celebrates 130 years with fastest-ever Fabia

- Fastest ever Fabia marks Skoda's 130th anniversary
- 177PS from updated 1.5 TSI petrol engine
- 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds
- Priced from £29,995
Skoda has marked its 130th anniversary by releasing a special edition of its small hatchback – the fastest Skoda Fabia ever.
Despite its name, the Skoda Fabia 130 doesn't have 130PS but actually 177PS from its updated 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. That gives it a 0-62mph time of 7.4 seconds – 0.6 seconds faster than the current swiftest Fabia 1.5 TSI.
It also gets technical tweaks and upgrades including a revised version of the seven-speed DSG transmission, lowered sports suspension and recalibrated steering.
Four colours are available, each with a gloss black roof, pillars and mirrors. There are motorsport details dotted around the car, including black front and rear spoilers, a rear diffuser and 130 badges on the boot lid and front wings.
2025 Skoda Fabia 130 prices and release date
Order books for the new Skoda Fabia 130 open on 30 October 2025 and prices start at £29,995. Rivals are actually few and far between with the demise of the hot hatches like the Ford Fiesta ST and Hyundai i20 N. The Volkswagen Polo GTI is probably the closest competitor although it has more power from a bigger engine.
The cheapest Skoda Fabia in the range is the £21,055 for the Fabia Design Edition.
2025 Skoda Fabia 130 styling interior and technology
Skoda has taken the standard Fabia and added a sporty touch with the Skoda Fabia 130. For a start, it sits 15mm lower on sport suspension with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Four paint colours are available – Moon White, Velvet Red, Race Blue and Black Magic. The headlight housings have been tinted black and there's a black horizontal stripe at the back, which pays homage to the limited-edition Fabia Rally2.
Inside, there are sports seats with firm side bolsters, a three-spoke steering wheel and stainless-steel pedals. The trim on the dashboard and doors is grey and black aluminium while there are special Fabia 130 door sills. A 10-inch Virtual Cockpit digital driver display is standard, with a 9.2-inch infotainment screen in the centre of the dash.
2025 Skoda Fabia 130 engine, gearbox and performance
The Skoda Fabia 130 comes with a tuned version of Skoda's 1.5-litre TSI EVO2 petrol engine. The engineers have tweaked the intake plenum, vibration damper and rocker arms to cope with the 27PS increase over the standard model, for a total of 177PS and 250Nm available from 1500rpm.
That translates to a 0-62mph time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 142mph, which makes it the fastest series-produced Skoda Fabia yet. There's no official confirmation yet of how the power increase affects fuel economy but the standard 1.5 TSI return 53.1mpg according to the claimed figures.
