Volkswagen shows 503PS GTI concept at Woerthersee

Volkswagen has premiered the 503PS GTI Roadster concept at its annual Woerthersee GTI meeting in Austria. The car was originally designed to appear in Gran Turismo 6, the Playstation 3 racing title, but the car has now been revealed in the metal.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 TSI petrol engine with peak torque of 560Nm. Transmission is a seven-speed DSG automatic, sending drive to all four wheels via a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. 0-62mph is said to take 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 190mph.

The car has been designed as a pure flight of fantasy. No production car regulations or pricing considerations were made by the small team behind the car, so there is no chance of it showing up in Volkswagen dealerships in future. It will, however, be available to download in virtual form for Gran Turismo 6 from mid June 2014.
