Renault announces limited edition Renaultsport Megane

Renault has announced it is to bring 30 examples of a limited edition Renaultsport Megane RB8 to the UK, which will be available to order from mid-June. Built to celebrate Red Bull Racing’s success in Formula 1 the RB8 features Red Bull Racing branding inside and out, including a numbered kickplate and logo’d Recaro leather seats. Expect to pay more than £25,000.

Based on the Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy, all of the cars will come with Bridgestone tyres on 19-inch alloy wheels. One colour – Twilight Blue – is offered, with platinum grey details on the spoiler, door handles and ‘F1 blade’ in the front grille.

Additionally the RB8 features the latest iteration of Renaultsport Monitor, which shows onboard telemetry, a more user-friendly interface, GPS tracked lap timing and a bespoke Red Bull Racing home screen. Users can even download their telemetry to a USB stick.

Order books open in June and first deliveries are expected in September. Final pricing details will be announced nearer the cars on-sale date.
