Audi unveils RS7 Sportback

Audi has unveiled the RS7 Sportback which gets a twin turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine producing a mammoth 560PS. Sitting at the top of the A7 Sportback range, the RS7 goes on sale this summer priced at around £84,000.

The five-door fastback uses the same engine as the forthcoming RS6 Avant and along with the 560PS has 700Nm of torque. This gives it a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds along with a maximum speed of 155mph limited. Like the RS6 Avant, buyers can choose a pair of Dynamic packages, which raise that limiter to 175mph and 190mph. Official fuel economy is 28.8mpg.

The RS7 Sportback will be available with the eight-speed automatic gearbox only and it's fed through the computer controlled quattro four-wheel drive system. There's air suspension to complement its wider track, which like the RS6 will be available with driver-defined ride and damping settngs. As well as this, there will be an optional steel-sprung suspension set-up available for drivers who want a more hardcore set-up.
