BMW 5-Series M Sport models on the way

BMW has announced that the latest 5-Series will be available with M Sport trim from this September, as its roll-out of the new range continues.

More than half of all 5-Series buyers opt for M Sport trim, which offers sportier styling, upgraded interiors and extra detailing. Prices start at £3325 above the standard SE price (£2750 for 550i) and the trim will be available on all engines on both Saloon and Touring.

From the front, the new M Sport has a sculpted, more dynamic front air intakes and inset fog lights. Plus there's a more pronounced side sill and profile and dark bumper insert and dark chrome tailpipes at the rear.

Buyers also get 18-inch light alloy M Double-spoke style 350M wheels with runflat tyres, Aluminium Hexagon interior trim, M Sport suspension (including 10mm lowering), Sport seats with front, part electric adjustment (full electric adjustment for 550i) and Anthracite headlining, ‘M' door sill finishers and an M Sport steering wheel. For the first time it's possible not to opt for the M Sport suspension as part of the package and retain the 5-Series's existing set-up.

First Drive: The 520d SE will do more than 55mpg and will cut Road Tax and company car tax bills.
