Kia creates full size EV6 out of LEGO

Kia has unveiled a unique 1:1 scale model of the Kia EV6 at the Milan Design Week. The catch? The entire model is made up of 350,000 LEGO bricks.

Commissioned by Kia Italy, the ‘Brick To The Future’ exhibit demonstrates the power of imagination and inspiration with the iconic bricks.

The project required over 800 hours of work from BrickVision, a company founded by Riccardo Zangelmi, Italy's only LEGO Certified Professional.

The project was led by Zangelmi and his team, who spent four months bringing the model to life, retaining the intricate design details and unique personality of the EV6. Additionally, a functioning lighting system was added to ensure the LEGO EV6 retained its distinctive lighting features from every angle.

The entire process of the build has been documented in a video on the Kia Italy YouTube Channel, taking viewers through each phase of the project from conception to presentation.

Kia plans to showcase ‘Brick To The Future’ at the 2023 Milan Design Week from 17 April before exhibiting it at the Kia Energy House in Rome.

The Kia EV6 is the first of 15 fully electric models Kia plans to introduce globally by 2027. Built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Kia EV6 is set to be joined by the futuristic three-row SUV, the Kia EV9, which will also offer fully electric motoring and space for up to seven occupants.

Should I leave my EV charging while I'm on holiday?

My Kia EV6 GT Line S will be four weeks old when I go on holiday for two months. Can you please advise whether or not I should leave it plugged into my Pod Point charger while I'm away?
Kia recommends fully charging an EV before leaving it for an extended period. You won't do any harm by leaving it plugged in - the car will stop charging when it's full to prevent any issues.
