Lamborghini Veneno - What Are Lamborghini Doing!? - shawsy911

Lambo is struggling to keep up with the competition and it can be seen with their latest oddity the Veneno from the Geneva motor show.

The P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari smash it out of water altogether with tech advancements and the Veneno is made just a suppued up Avendator with carbon fibre thrown here and there.

what do you think? have they lost the way? Do you actually like the Veneno?!?

It looks lovely but in the way I might admire a really clever model built from Lego.

Veneno (has no meaning in Italian) is Spanish for 'venom', which seems to suit it!

I was going to make the comparison with Lego too. Or perhaps a badly stuck together Airfix kit.

To be honest the Veneno is hideous. If you've spent a million on a car of which only three examples have been built, you presumably want it to stand out, and this car certainly does that, but in the same way as a Vauxhall Corsa with an extreme bodykit does. It's a mess.

There's another car of which only three were built - the Lea Francis Lynx, but that was because nobody wanted one because it was so ugly!

I think all Lamborghinis look vulgar. I've never felt a twinge of jealousy when one has driven past. Garish design and unfortunate associations with premier league footballers.

As far as purists' cars go, a Lamborghini couldn't hold a candle to a Lotus. Then for a 'sensible' car, you could get an Audi RS6 or similar-and still have change for a 4 bed detached in Berksire.
