Honda Civic - Rear Tyre Wear - Fritz

My daughter has just had her 2010 Honda Civic serviced with 11,000 miles on the clock. It required two new rear tyres. I thought rear tyres lasted longer than front and 11000 is a short life for a tyre?

Had they worn evenly or more on one side? If so the wheel alignment is out.

Thank you, yes the tyre wear was uneven on both rear tyres, one slightly more than the other. Should Honda have sorted the wheel alignment out as part of the service and when they replaced the tyres? Or at least brought it to our attention.

In your estimation, how long should tyres last on a new car - on average?

Many thanks

Andrew

Factory-fit tyres are normally pretty good, so you could expect 20K on the front and 30K or more on the rear, depending how you drive of course, and that you keep them at the right pressure. Does sound as if your rear wheels are misaligned.

This has been an issue with some 8th generation Civics, see this thread on Civinfo forum.

Uk Honda's come with a three-year warranty from date of first registration, maybe it's still in the warranty period?
