Presume the doctor - as they should know whether or not the injury has healed.

When I broke my left wrist some years ago, I checked with my doctor whether I should drive or not. Then I spoke to the insurance company, explained ths situation, and they had no issues.

I would suggest, as already said, that you ask your doctor whether he would class you as safe to drive. Assuming that you have a manual car, then at least you aren't using for the brake, which could potentially be an issue. You will almost certainly find it very stiff and uncomfortable, so you may not actually feel like driving!
