Chrysler Grand Voyager - Heater Not Working - dmg195

Hi, I've got a 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager. The radiator was replaced in July, and in the last couple of months I noticed I'm getting virtually no heating in the car. Sometimes it will be warm for 30 seconds but then goes back to cold. I found the rad was faulty and have just had it replaced but still no heating inside. The guy did say he believes the thermostat needs replacing too, could that cause the issue with the heating? If not what else is it likely to be ?

If the thermostat is faulty the engine temperature gauge will be reading low or almost cold, if its OK so is the thermostat

It could be that you have air in the system, disconnect one of the heater hoses and fill the header tank until coolant comes ot of both sides. If it has a water control valve that could be faulty but most heaters are controlled by air flaps in the heater.

Thanks for the response, I believe the temp gauge is showing as normal. I thought that if it was an air lock it would have been cleared when the new rad was fitted?

Sorry but not an expert, are you talking about the expansion tank when you say header tank unit?
