Land Rover Freelander 2 - Turbo problems - POB123

My wife's Freelander has recently been down on power especially on hills and overtaking.

Local LR specialist has diagnosed "fault on turbo solenoid" - are you aware of any such problems?

Car is March '07 with 59k miles.

Had rear diff replaced under warranty 3 years ago and recent replacement glow plugs.

This is Freelander no 3 all owned from new and until now the most reliable but my wife still likes them!

they like all turbo diesels can suffer from turbo issues but its making sure that the diagnostics have been carried out correctly.

They do store fault codes most frequently for turbo issues but doesnt always mean they need a turbo. Mine from new kept flagging a turbo fault amoungst many others and LR were going to replace the turbo under warranty at 9k but i refused to accept it was the turbo and didnt want a remanufactuered unit fitted. For my FR2 it turned out to be a wiring issue.

The most common for lack of power on these is a split induction pipe or restricted diesel filter ( very common ) causing lack of power on overtaking & up hill.

Worth a visit to, www.freel2.com big bunch of LR enthusisasts and some Landrover customer support guys follow the forum as well. All my fixes for my FR2 have been though the Forum. Some of which the guys know about that even the dealers dont know !!!!!!!!!
