Good customer service - Can you believe it - oldroverboy.

I have a friend who bought a used car from a large national chain a bit back, noticed the 1st service had not been done/documented properly, (should have been done before delivery!) phoned, e-mailed, and was sent a cheque for the cost of 1st service. He is absolutely flabbergasted!

Good to know that. Let us know if you can find out which chain it was.

I strongly suspect that the fact that the service was overdue has invalidated the manufacturer's warranty. I trust that your friend has been made aware of this fact by the selling dealer, oldroverboy? And do you suspect not, Avant, so that they can be named and shamed?

No - I was suggesting naming and praising! We don't get enough good news.

We don't know by how much if at all the service was overdue (it may just be lack of documentation) so I wasn't inclined to be suspicious on the facts given.

The service was done within days of the end of the 1st year, I know that, AND, because of previous issues with these lovely people, my trustworthy friend, does not want to name (praise or shame) they are however pretty close to your dealers avant! However they are on the path to redemption.
