bmw petrol 520i e39 year 1999 eng code20 65 4 - rev's up high when started - mickeybo

The above car starts straight away and rev's up very high but within 2 sec's cuts out has any 1 come across this problem before or can shed any light on this,Any feedback greatly accepted Regards Mickeybo

Vacuum leak? Extra air initially allows revs to rise. Engine stalls when post-cranking enrichment is reduced and mixture becomes too lean to burn.

Do you mean it will not idle or will not run if you keep your foot on the pedal above idle speed?

Check this link out the sensor on the oil level causes exactly what you have described.

There are also three sensors two for the camshaft and one for the crankshaft also cause the same problem.
