a. It's horrible

b. Make a flask of coffee and take it with you. Stop the car, have a cuppa, then resume. This is preferable to scalding yourself whilst driving.

My son and I had a test drive in one its a lot better in my opinion then the 4 door mini and appears on the face of it better built but no beauty queen. But I will never have either so really its just another piece of tin.

An on-board coffee maker? A less fitting tribute to the original it is possible to imagine.

Nearly 15 grand minimum for a little car! What is the world coming to?

Why would you want to make coffee that used stale water (presumably half way or at the end of a trip)? If you can find a shop, you may just as likely find somehwere to buy a decent coffee anyway. Typical useless gizmo that's used only one or twice and is just for show. Much better to save the money and use it buy decent coffee from wherever you are at the time.

Oh dear. I tried a set of his headphones once and they were just as I expected. Exactly the same sound reproduction as a 1980's "boom box" with the el cheapo graphic equaliser on the front set to the de rigeur "all the way up at both ends".

Ended up with a set of Sennheisers costing less than half as much and offering infinitely superior sound reproduction. Somewhat less achingly stylish though.......

OP, Couldnt disagree more

Virtually every modern car is equipped with driver and passenger cup holders in the front. Some cars are festooned with them (a Honda FR-V has 7). The whole point of a cup holder is so you can keep sipping your scalding hot coffee whilst the car is being driven, being sensible enough to take a sip when stationary or when comfortably cruising. Many people are time-poor, they have no choice but to contine their journey whilst drinking their drink. Virtually every driver must have done this at some point, its not illegal. The police drink hot drinks whilst on the move in patrol cars.

A problem which coffee sellers havent tackled yet is to make there cups/containers better suited to car travel. Yes, they fit heatproof sleeves, and some have got fairly tight-fitting lids, but if the cup doesnt fit snug in your car cup-holder then the spillage factor is considerable....

So I'm glad that Fiat has provided a bespoke hot coffee dispenser system for their new car. It will probably prove safer, certainly cheaper, than a plastic & cardboard cup jiggling around in a cup holder.

Some people like to think so! I have a drink whilst driving on the motorway-but rarely can I legitimately claim that there wasn't time to stop for a coffee. i manage with a good ol' thermos. I still think of cupholders as an American invention looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Cans and bottles are virtually completely spill proof.

During my commute, I just wait and then have a cup of tea when I get to work. People seem to be obsessed with carrying bottles of water around.

I've noticed this! Every so often they take a tiny swig. I think it is the scaremongering about dehydration. If you're sedentary, you don't need anywhere near 8 pints of water a day or whatever the recommended amount is.

People also forget that it's water molecules that you require - even dry crackers have some water in.

It's nonsense isn't it? I remember as a lad going out to play straight after breakfast and another drop of liquid wouldn't pass my lips until 5-6pm when I came home from my day of adventure - it didn't do me any harm! People humping their own water supply around as if they are on expedition - just to go to work - makes me laugh out loud!

Where would we be without the taxpayer-sponsored nannys telling us to "eat 5 a day" and drink a gazillion litres of water.

Agreed, it's the "aren't I important?" culture. No one in the commercial world is so important that they cannot take time to stop to drink safely and without endangering others, just as no one in the coomercial world is so important or anything so urgent that they have to make a mobile phone call while travelling.
