Sad news I'm afraid.

Both branches of Monorep in Hayes and Southall are now closed and in administration.

44 years in business, such a shame.

A great shame, especially as they've surviuved several recessions and car sales are now picking up a bit.

I don't suppose selling Chevrolets helped very much. Oldroverboy is a fan but they don't have enough USPs to make them popular. And selling Vauxhalls stands or falls on the number of fleet sales you can get.

Inmterestingly, you might think of Skodas as - unlike Vauxhalls - mainly bought privately, but the dealer I use - Jewsons of Oxford - has a thriving fleet sales business, quite possibly largely due to Stuart, their excellent fleet sales manager.

A local dealer near me used to sell BOTH Chevrolets and Saabs - what a combination! They only sell Chevvies now, but still do all the servicing of the Saabs, which hald the locals seem to have bought. Good for a few years more then...

I agree I'm a fan, but it is because i have been lucky and bought at silly prices for a 1 year old car each time saving 50ish%... The epica was good, comfy and economical, but essentially fragile engine, look at the captiva forums for 2.0 diesel engine problems.the cruze is not much worse on fuel than the epica but not as comfortable. All of my cars get sold at end of warranty, fully maintained, and in good condition, so have got an acceptable price each time. I'm a fan because it is budget motoring.

How long will it be before their are only 4 or5 large dealership groups in the company .
Inevitably when that happens their will be a reduction in new car discounts and an increase in servicing costs.
