Further to my original question about my Kia intermittantly blowing a 10amp fuse on the
electrical
supply to the fuel pump. It only happened when the the car was pointing down hill. My drive slopes into the gateway and when I got out to open the gate the engine cut and refused to start. I have solved the problem now. The fuel pump which is located under the back seat
has an inbuilt fuel filter which clogs up due to the dirty fuel one gets when the filling the car at the garage, if the tank/resevoir at the garage is running low the result is the sediment in the fuel means putting mucky fuel into the tank. The fuel pump/filter for this car is in my view disproportionally expensive and
I think the problem should not have happened in a very low mileage car. However,
removing the pump for the car and cleaning it out as far as one can, cured the problem
and the fuse blowing has not re-occurred since.
this may be the answer to your problem Kate84
