Hi had my shogun over 2 years... my diesel consumption is now getting terrible. I do approx 100 miles a day and use approx £20 -£25 day diesel, I seem to be putting it in all the time, I cant remember if this was the case when i first bought the car and i know diesel costs have risen etc etc and its a 3.2.. but does this sound alot to you guys.. female so dont want to walk into garage completely blind about the problem incase i get told porkies !!! someone told me to get the filter changed ? and will be this costly? thanks :)

All vehicles need regular servicing - if it's not done then fuel consumption will suffer.

100 miles at 30mpg will cost about £21 taking diesel at £1.40/litre.

Fuel consumption will vary a lot between heavy commuting and gentle open road, possibly as much as 100%.

100 miles a day @ 25/30 mpg makes the amount of fuel you are putting in about right.

2 ton like vehicle brick, industrial all wheel drive transmission to drag round, it all adds up.

Think of the good side of this, roughly £13 of your daily fill up goes to helping out those poor starving MP's and to subsidising their pensions and most lucratively towards fiddled expenses..:-)
